    Re: Invisible Dishes

I have seen some dishes disguised as rocks, also some can be fitted inside globes that look like big lights or a garden ornament. Others that look like umbrellas / sunshades.
    So must be possible to...

    Re: Invisible Dishes

I think the sat chair is amazing. An alternative is the sqish satellite dish. It can either be disguise using a bespoke cover, embedded in a wall to look like a window. Or it can use many layers of...

    Re: Jamming on HotBird

I have noticed on 13E that even from the same beam I get some signals at 45 % and others at 60%, can be useful as I use the weaker signal to fine tune the dish direction

Re: The best you can get?

There is a new material in developement which will offer very lightweight cables and the possibility of a using the same material as a coating on the outside of the dish. It involves a composite of...
  8. Re: Why I can't watch a channel in the morning?

Hi , Have you checked to see that there are no unusual reflections from say chimney stacks, normal tv / radio aerials that are reflecting onto your dish. Also is there a nearby dish as you could be...

Re: Is it end of 3D technology in tv?

Well if you look at Nintendo they have released the 2ds as people just don't need full 3d.
I would prefer a crystal sharp picture, than the blurry 3d offerings.
Your brain makes it look 3d anyway ,,

Re: Lost 12% of signal strength

How close are your dishes, there is an effect called edge diffraction which can cause interference between dishes..

Re: Lost 12% of signal strength

I would agree that the 20m of cable is likely to be the problem , plus every junction you install increases noise.

    Re: Lnb

Hi , I think the fact that the signal varies a lot indicates 3 possibilities
    1) The lnb is loose in the bracket and is slipping.
    2) Most likely the connector at the end of the cable became loose...

    Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

Unless you disable the auto time function it will lock onto the appropriate local time of the last channel you are on, if a dish is moved it may lock onto the wrong channel and thus the wrong time.

    Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

I find that the 9000 randomly loses 15 minutes or so if I disconnect from network or a cline goes down., a bit of an unusual fault but hey I don't care too much

    Re: Wifi Home Plug

I suggest you use a wireless bridge, connect your stb to it using a an ethernet cable if possible. That way you can boost the range of the wifi from below.

    Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

I used a slingbox with my sat receivers for a couple of years. I do find them to be a bit fragile though , 2 died within 18 months, great while they work. You can set up virtual remotes with spidy or...

    Re: Recommendation

    Hi,
In brief the further a satellite is away to the east of west the more you have to point the dish down. A satellite due above you would have your dish at around 30 degrees,
    A standard sly dish...

Re: cccam says offline, any help?

    Re: How many clines?

I agree with the 3 - 4 cline limit more than that can mean false reports or you drop out a good line in favour of a poor one. Also remember you are pinging servers that others may wish to use.

    Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

One way to copy multiple recording is to use clone disk applications, but I don't see why they wouldn't just work if copied directly

    Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

Mobley speaks a lot of sense, the March 2012 patch works well, if you get problems just do a hard turn off (switch at back or unplug for 5 mins ), restart and usually all is well.

    Re: Spiderbox Owners Chat!

I think not having a sat button will be big blow for motorised owner. I use disecq and have always just zapped between channels irrespective of satellite. But motorised owners don't want this or...
